Blue Fire Co.: From Magento to Shopify and onto Europe’s Fashion Marketplaces

The client

Blue Fire Co. is a denim brand (“Denim to burn for”) selling directly to consumers online and through Europe’s leading fashion marketplaces.

The challenge

The online store ran on Magento. It had become costly to maintain and slow to change, and it was a poor foundation for the brand’s next step: selling on the big European fashion marketplaces. Every marketplace expects its own product data, sizes and processes, and orders from every channel need to end up in one place.

The brand needed two things at once: a modern, easy-to-run shop, and a clean data flow from that shop to Zalando, Otto and ABOUT YOU.

The solution

1. Migration from Magento to Shopify

We moved the store to Shopify: products and variants with their sizes and fits, collections, customers and order history. Every old URL was mapped to its new Shopify URL with 301 redirects so existing search rankings and links kept working, and the store was tested end to end before the switch.

2. Connecting Shopify to TB.One

Shopify became the single source for the catalogue. We connected it to Tradebyte TB.One, the channel platform that links the brand to the marketplaces: product data, stock and prices flow from Shopify to TB.One, and marketplace orders flow back into Shopify for fulfilment.

3. Marketplace onboarding

For each marketplace, the product data was mapped to the channel’s own requirements, from categories and attributes to size and colour values, and the assortment was onboarded on Zalando, Otto and ABOUT YOU.

The outcome

• One catalogue, three marketplaces: products are maintained once in Shopify and published to Zalando, Otto and ABOUT YOU through TB.One.
• Orders in one place: marketplace orders arrive in Shopify alongside the brand’s own web shop orders.
• Stock in sync: stock updates reach every channel from a single source.
• Ready for the next channel: further marketplaces connected to TB.One become a configuration step instead of a new project.
